Lemmy start by saying I don’t trust telegram in termes of privacy (pun intended). But I still use it for specific purposes and I was wondering if there is a point in using a fork privacy-wise? I’s assume not since it still uses telegram servers but still curious about an explanation as to why not! Cheers

Don’t why you want to use Telegram but in any cases this is not a good idea, even with Forks. It maybe remove blobs but don’t change the Telegram infrastructure

Just read what changes and patches have been done to each of these forks you consider and decide for yourself.

Telegram client is the only thing from them that’s open, so I would stick to that as it’s where most eyes are looking.
