We all know that whenever someone says “crypto” they mean cryptocurrency and nfts. Pretending we’re talking about cryptographic security is not helping anyone.

It depends, while all transactions from accounts is known, the details for the owners of the account don’t have to be.
No it doesn’t, any transaction you make with crypto gets posted online for anyone to see.

As a fault, that isn’t much of one. That transparency makes sure every single coin in a blockchain is where it’s supposed to be and accounted for.
You have no idea who random string of hashed numbers is unless they (for some reason) make it public, usually… influencers.

Nope, read the Bitcoin white paper. But that was an old coin with some issues that are clear in hindsight and have been fixed in prkvscy coins like zcash & monero.

It’s that there is significant institutional support to keep the current monitory regime in power. There have been plenty of volatile state controlled currencies too.
