Why those coders haveto do a new app instead of doing work on briar?
Why not work on session instead?
Session is just a rip of Signal (minus privacy features), funded by a cryptocurrency that’s a rip of Monero. I wouldn’t touch their stuff.
Maybe they don’t want too. Maybe they don’t like the app. Maybe they don’t like the devs.
Why ever make something new?
I tried Briar the other week. It seems to be missing some major features like backups of your account and the ability to verify a peer after you added them if you didn’t understand that you were supposed to copy codes in both directions.
Forums on it are also… A thing. After a couple dozen posts, it becomes rather untenable
No thanks. Already have enough secure chat apps.
Nostr is also looking like a pretty good tool for filling the same purpose
Nostr is a public, “all your content are belong to us” platform designed for the transmission of cryptocurrency and increasing its value for its owners first, and privacy dead last.
If I’m within 10 meters of them, I prefer to blink in morse code.
You have to blink a key exchange first and then do your mental encryptions. It keeps your brain and eyelids strong.
The key exchange is in air kisses
I prefer PictoChat at that distance
Good luck, sounds great
Good title. I also looked at it and installed it, but still missing some important features. So I will keep an eye on it.
Let’s chat on Berty, a secure & p2p messaging app. Join me here: https://berty.tech/id#contact/oZBLEqQ6XzR1cu4LVhHG5EJzWZM9VNLA29uqjQkhn9EPKXSxjHwj1saEpLs1VKL6tMGo1jSuyJ3rHBbpE4RkMLiPYd6vmjt/name=VOG-L29
Honestly I won’t even install it at this stage. It needs to be audited and on F-droid before it is even partially reputable.
Its probably fine to test but don’t rely on this at all.
