Yeah this is not really data that affects privacy. Literally none of it can be used for advertising and half of it is literally required for it so the basic functions of an online game and the rest is catch cheaters.
Privacy data != “can be used for ads”. Privacy is about personal info, info that can be used to identify you personally. So yes, none of this data is personal but not because of ads but because none of it is tied to an individual. Only IP is problematic here but the rest of data is not very sensitive anyway.
Really? The anti-cheat is right up there with proctoring software in what it watches on your system. Much of this information is sent to an external service outside your control.
While it’s true that the company managing the anti-cheat has a vested interest in not abusing their access to private information, individual employees or external actors who have compromised their systems don’t have the same interests.
The big thing here though isn’t really privacy per-se, it’s security. The kernel drivers used by these systems are given full access to your computer, and so are often abused by third parties to uninstall security software and install malicious software and adware.
i guess ip address and running processes and hardware aren’t that little of a data to be tracked, but if u say that, I guess I can be chill. thank you 👍🏻
Yeah no they really aren’t.
I agree that it’s a fairly invasive level or data to request, but it is actually needed to catch cheaters.
If you want to play a game without cheaters, that’s the price of admission.
It’s definitely invasive, highly specific, unique data but it’s also not useful data to an advertiser.
Show me one that exists and I’ll install all the rootkits you want.

In singleplayer it doesn’t matter :)
Literally anything you connect to whether it be a website or multiplayer game has your IP, it’s nothing to worry about. Hardware info is pretty standard too.
