Unfortunately, Facebook Marketplace is still a relatively popular Craigslist alt.
Facebook marketing across high schools and colleges is intense. And because it’s such a pivotal platform, you kinda need to get one and build up a - let’s call it a social credit score - just so you can endure admittance counselors and employers demanding to see your account as part of the screening process.
Sort of like getting a credit card as a teenager so you can prove you’re credit worthy enough for an apartment or car loan in your twenties. You just have to post generic mundane bullshit on the timeline and join generic mundane groups so people see you as “normal”.
Employers demand to see your facebook account? That sounds illegal.
Absolutely nothing in the rules against it. “Being Offline” isn’t a protected class.

after years of getting timeouts and jail for minor cussing, the robots perma-banned me with no explanation, just a link to community standards. was pretty tired of the endless bot/slop/spam in most groups. keep that self-clicking robot swarm. family has my number.

I haven’t because I don’t know if there is even a point, since afaik they don’t actually delete anything, they just keep you from accessing it, and keep adding to it anything other people post about you.

wdym? facebook automatically showed us it used facial recognition at least as far back as 2007 by asking us to click boxes on faces and subsequently asking us to label them… We really did all of the heavy lifting for them. -I got out while i could in ~2018
I never got in, and I stopped letting people take pictures of me so they couldn’t put me on there either.
Unfortunately it forced all existing users to submit as well, but we already gave it a bunch of photos of ourselves before the beast had revealed itself

Happened to me on twitter. They wanted to open the front camera and look at my face and estimate my age.
I just went to thispersondoesnotexist.com on PC and showed twitter that image. They accepted it.
