You get big electricity bill. They get free data to sell.

You can try this out by metering your usage with Rethink. It measures how much each app uses on and off of wifi in addition to its myriad other functions.
I was able to switch from unlimited data to a 3GB/month data plan when I switched to Graphene OS.
I wonder how much electricity and bandwith is used by all that spyware…
I wonder how much is just due to the default phone launcher and keyboard.
