for fingerprinting in browsers, high recommend arkenfox. it has a wiki with alot of information regarding fingerprinting and its just a user.js that you edit. along with libredirect which show front ends for alot of sites
If you recommend Firefox, i think in the context of privacy / data hoarding, i think it is best to recommend Librewolf too.
Thanks for everything. I started all the degoogling but damn, it will take times, but it is worth it. The email tips is nice. I should start doing this, I would like if possible to be the one that host my emails. Also, there is a website: https://european-alternatives.eu/ which can help regarding changing to European services instead of USA ones. However, not all of them are open sources. Regarding Signal there is also messaging app that use XMPP protocol that are worth considering (https://xmpp.org/).
Is using app manager the same as jailbreaking? Could that be a security risk?

Fare enough. I can finally get rid of one drive from my Samsung phone!
Given the numerous App stores listed, consider consolidating to Obtainium, since it can install from all of them, or direct from developers repo releases.
I spend a lot of time learning to protect my privacy but this is just… so much. I really wish someone would release a phone with all the essentials on this list installed as starter apps. A lot of people want these things but don’t have the time or technical expertise to learn. Surely it’d be a great business opportunity!
Hypatia, and all other Divested apps, are dead. The Dev (Tavi) is done with their Android projects.
There is a fork that is available on the izzyondroid repo
I’ve switched to a Google Pixel with GrapheneOS as part of my continuing deGoogle. Thanks for this, its further ideas to work on. One recommendation I would add however is that people use Obtainium instead of F-droid. This article is a pretty goof summary of why: https://privsec.dev/posts/android/f-droid-security-issues/
Its definitely more friction to get apps installed but once they are installed, I find Obtainium better for automatic updates than F-droid.
I just started my degoogling journey and this is amazing. Thanks for putting this together!
Favoriting, thank you.
Just my two cents: Might be a good idea to put a list of all the URLs through your post at the bottom. Might make it more accessible for others, and clean up the format of your post to give it the attention it deserves.
