I have used brave search which was really good I really liked the ai search although i moved away from it after seeing how bad google ai search was (saying things like its a good idea to eat rocks due to not being able to recognise satire) and I managed to get brave to do the same thing with a different onion article so i dont really trust any ai search now. At the moment I use searx it’s incredibly private especially if you are willing to self host (I am not) and you have so much customisation you can use any search index so you don’t have to worry about bad results.

Qwant also seams really good although I haven’t tried it, same with ecosia especially if you like planting trees although I use an ad blocker so that doesn’t work for me.

Imo there are so many great free browsers it’s not really worth paying for a browser.

I also don’t recommend duck duck since it used to have a tracking deal with Microsoft. It doesn’t have it anymore but I think it’s enough to lose faith in it.

Ideally I would have one for each service I sign up for but my proton subscription only allows for 10.

Instead of making a whole new software why not just add number plate cameras to the osm database and make a software that pulls them out and makes it convenient to read?

Well tiktok is one of the worse sources to obtain information from in my opinion because you pretty much guaranteed to only get information and opinions from people who align with your ideologies.

I think there needs to be some legislation done in terms of limiting commercial social media platforms although I’m not sure how someone would go about this. Would they ban social media cites that take peoples data? maybe they should ban cites that display ads? What about making all social media cites to support an open protocol like activity pub or similar so your not locked into using there scummy closed source apps.

It would be great if heaps more people started using the fediverse but it would terrible if you had to use biometrics to create an account with a federated cite.

Wow I can’t believe they put in the work to make anti cheat work on linux and then they just removed it.

Is that with any vpn provider? or hosting your own? And that is kind of a shame I guess you just won’t be able to use Mullvad vpn, good thing there are heaps of other options.

If wire guard is just bettr then I don’t see any reason to suport OpenVPN anyway.

I personally use organic maps and osmand. Organic maps has traffic which makes it probably your best bet for online navigation but osmand has heaps of more advanced features including topography, weather, osm editing if your into volunteering, Wikipedia and heaps more.
