The thing is, E2EE email is what ProtonMail also advertises, so that is not a good enough reason to cherrypick on this post. That is why if there is some particularly huge red flag, that allows to take action easily.

Oh I know. It is your call. I’ve not seen much evidence of tutanova/proton Lemmy adverts. This service is quite new in comparison and there is clearly some astroturfing on lemmy. We don’t know how good or bad they are tbh. The fact they are pushing it rather than relying on word of mouth is a little sketchy.

Whether it is deleted or not, I’ll at least call out advertising so people are aware rather than being led to believe it is recommended.

Its not about my call. I am just being cautious, since I do not want to hammer down privacy services being advertised, in case they may be legit. Privacy services by nature barely get any exposure, since we tend to have laser cannons targeted at any ad or scam.
