It’s usually the storage costs that will get you if you store large files with GitLFS. Otherwise it’s fairly light with the git repos and container image version persistence.

If you do plan on storing containers, you might want to enable the container purge.

GitLab SaaS and CE (self hosted) are both good options. Self hosted would obviously rely on whatever your server can do. SaaS has been very consistent. I mostly enjoy it for the CI/CD that is provides.

Used CF for years, email routing is neat but they aren’t a inbox provider. They just give a way to send email to another inbox.

It’s the other way around, I need to get long links to the CLI

Link shorteners have absolutely been useful when you need to go to a long URL on a entirely different device you can’t copy a link to easily.

I’ve used them to make it easy to get to scripts.

Grayjay is just plugins for everything, so if you want to add a new platform you can make it

Privacy also doesn’t exist when you have the entire website being indexed

I’m also a firm believer in you don’t need to freely give up your data

Everything is already headed to a point of being paywalled, I wouldn’t say there’s any reason to not spread the word and let more people know.

The FBI also encourages the use of them.

With grayjay (assuming you use Android) you can follow creators and not platforms.

Able to access quite a few different services with just 1 app

Based developers with a interesting plan to keep it around.

Time to see the big companies who don’t care about their old games do the same.

The most private platform:

Is the ones you don’t use

I will say I just found the RSS feeds for News, like as of 2 days ago.

A hardware wallet like the trezor, or if you want to read a bit into what ledger has been doing one of those (they had a few controversial changes)

I’ve used ramnode before and their quality of service wasn’t exactly what I would call amazing.

I actually haven’t used their storage volumes, my bad for not actually looking at that pricing.

As mozz said, DigitalOcean is a good company, but looking for that much storage you would be spending upwards of $100/mo.

And if you are running anything illegal, you will likely have your instance investigated and have your ssh keys and password overwritten by whoever is hosting it.

If you are looking for something that is as private as possible, you would be looking for a bulletproof host, which will cost significantly more.

Assuming you aren’t looking to run anything illegal, I also provide hosting, and you can reach out to me if interested.

The newer cars from the company I worked for were always trying to phone home, not sure about other companies but this one was trying to lock you into the online ecosystem.

Speaking as someone who worked for a corporate auto maker, it won’t be an easy task since they try to make it as difficult as possible to disable online activation if even providing the ability at all.

The only real solution is pulling the head unit and trying to find any modem and desolder it, which who knows if it would function as it had before hand since everything is integrated.

It will also hurt resale value.

Yeah the whole iMessage thing wasn’t really what I cared about, given that it’s not a great look for them.

More so all the ex-oneplus talent that they have on staff to make a good quality product.

I buy almost all my domains from cloudflare

Probably should, it significantly decreased load times in my testing.

Same reason android is not counted as Linux, based on Linux but doesn’t behave like all the other Linux based distros
