It’s been what, 12 years now ? If there’s a time to be more motivated than ever to push back, it’s now. Look at all the cyberattacks happening against developped countries. In the past 2 years i’ve participated in 4 mandates to build back up companies hit by these attacks, and 2 times out of the 4, the decryption keys provided to us by the FBI we’re not even working.
That is why we need strong encryption from the start. They don’t understand anything at this whole mess to be pushing this for decades.
• Convenience, no need to waste time and car fuel going back and forth to the bank all week as i get a lot of cheques and i can just deposit straight after reception from my phone itself
• Mine put new ones in all year round as its not really a bank, kind of the same but it’s a “caisse populaire” in my language.
• Not really. If they offer it to mobile, they’ll offer it to computers always.
This simply won’t work and the implications and risks are too great to allow such a blasphemy. If a backdoor is built in every device, how do you guarantee the security ? This means anyone with enough skills and knowledge can abuse these types of backdoors.
This would set a very dangerous and dystopian precedent.
I was on EndeavourOS and it broke 3 times after major updates and i got sick of fixing, i dont have the time for troubleshooting all the time or tinkering with configurations (sadly because i do enjoy it). Maybe later when my life gets less busy which i doubt.
