Grammarly is a extremely useful browser extension but it not being free and open source makes me want something better. Alternativeto.net had a few recommendations but nothing that seemed great. Any recommendations or git hub projects I can help with?

LT works great for me, just as well spelling awful.

You can check languagetool. I believe there is a selfhost version as well, I even recall a cracked selfhost version. I am a premium subscriber of the original app at the moment, I understand it is not 100% privacy tight.

Repo for those interested: https://github.com/languagetool-org/languagetool

Couldn’t find the cracked repo, if anyone had that please send it over!

I use LanguageTool, their privacy policy seems okay.

They have paid and free option, and it can be self-hosted, but as fare as understand the self-hosted options doesn’t have any of the software enhancements you get on their servers.
