There are big wishes for Signal to adopt the perfectly working Flatpak. This will make Signal show up in the verified subsection of Flathub, it will improve trust, allow a central place for bug reports and support and ease maintenance. Flatpak works on pretty much all Distros, including the ones covered by their current “Linux = Ubuntu” .deb repo. To make a good decision, we need to have some statistics about who uses which package.

This is an unofficial survey started by a random user back in June. Spamming Lemmy with it won’t change anything.

I use the Android (currently 6.44.3) version, but the survey requires logging in so I won’t vote.

Not much more meaningful there than here. It’s not like this link is to anything official. Just a user post on the forums… from June.

Why post it here if you assume nobody reads it. That seems incredibly silly.

I spread the link so people go their community forums and tell them what they use.

The survey has not so many participants but serves a good purpose

I hope so, as I use it on the Steam Deck and on Fedora Onyx (Budgie Atomic), which both rely on Flatpak for desktop applications.
