a concerning trend, they fingerprint the hardware of approved handhelds (Deck) instead of just letting Linux players play

unfortunately EAC will probably close the loophole for that steam overlay hack I fear the day they whitelist a specific proton and blacklist all the custom ones and wine

I just use a third party client, there’s several that have the feature

it can’t select audio source unfortunately so it’s all desktop audio but way better than nothing

any driver warnings are usually one of three things, broken dxvk, broken vulkan driver, or integrated GPU getting picked over discrete

old news, this is still limited to deck and legion go

nope, will be interesting to see around April or May to see if valve leaves it in proton 10 or if they strip out the option again

I hope lutris ends up finding a new default on wine 10 somewhere in there. wine ge 8-26 starting to get long in the tooth for certain bleeding edge non-steam uses. was dismayed that latest proton isn’t an option for installer manifests on 5.18

in my experience seeing a few new people come through our support channels the immutables unfortunately had a bigger learning curve

ah, a Minecraft launcher. thought I just saw a post lamenting how few decent third party launchers there are

there’s A LOT of levers that can be fiddled with, but there’s some settings that fedora tested out that popos and arch use/recommend

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Zram#Optimizing_swap_on_zram

/etc/sysctl.d/99-vm-zram-parameters.confvm.swappiness = 180 vm.watermark_boost_factor = 0 vm.watermark_scale_factor = 125 vm.page-cluster = 0

finally. I hope next version of lutris uses the release its rc is sorely outdated now (edit lol they updated the runtime but didn’t release a new version of lutris to use it)

that libcuda one is real silly, cuda reserves a specific vram range for itself and eventually games will be wanting to allocate more and will overlap it like this

only if Rockstar email battleye telling them to turn on compatibility. something places like Bungie will never do

I smell a whiff of crypto, not interested

not really released yet, still in release candidates

I wasn’t going to get vr until it was plug and play on Linux and that has been the case for me so far, using alvr

this is great, my lug has a script we have to share around for new Linux users to increase this and it will be nice with more distros having this set high by default

last I looked I think it’s even easier on heroic than lutris git. soonTM

like wine patch notes, often someone reports that an old bug on a very old product seems to have gone away at some point so it gets reported as fixed, even if it’s not something that had to be specifically looked at by anybody
