Im in the eu and I did it one transaction. I was asked into a room for privacy due to the amount so I could put it away.

For the record I ws dodging taxes and was not inconvenienced.

I bought a car for 30k cash in Europe very recently and received mone of these heartaches.

It was really easy, I withdrew my money, drove to te dealership. Handed him a bag of money, which he counted. He then gave me a receipt for €25,350 and my car.

Like drugs have never been bought on card, and money washed through banks…

It may be the case that people do not want every single step they take to be monitored as it currently is.

You might not have a phone or be charged per use of card.

Is that the cheddar news youtube channel? They recently changed content and it sucks

I have spent €3000+ in cash a few times in the last few years but I dont really mind this tbh.

Just going by the link, is this not for marketing and unrelated to the sale of data?

I reported loads of content on Instagram, genuinely creepy accounts of “athletic teens” and they all got rejected.

I got caught in a horrible recommendations loop because I’d like family photos of running and gymnastics for my nieces and cousins.

It just shouldn’t need to be the case that I sacrifice privacy for convenience.

Years ago shopkeepers asked you what you wanted and then they went and got it and packaged it for you. Then it became the better option to let you choose your own items and we’d just deal with the shopkeep to pay. This way more people were served simultaneously and everything went quicker. Imagine if you had to tell the shopkeeper the last time you cranked yourself or what size your living room is in order to progress to this more efficient process.

Couldn’t you just make it so it’s not connected to the internet?

I have provided feedback for this and another issue and never once have I received anything back or seen a change.

To be honest the feature I’m talking about should be recognised by their team as missing and shouldn’t need an email but I did nonetheless.

Yeah that makes it a bad app, they removed a huge feature that makes it difficult to get less privacy conscious people over to it and it is focused on gimmicky features instead of.qualoty of life improvement. It is annoying to be missing easily implementable features that would not impact privacy.

I still use it for the better part of a decade but I think it is a bad app for what it is trying to do.

Signal is a bad app, you still cannot long press to select multiple photos. You have to select one and then press the add more button, open up a different gallery view and select multiple from there. But they add emojis and remove SMS support so woo. 😞

I’m here because I’m trying to figure out why dog is giving me curated location based results instead of the actual results, even though I have my region set to all regions.

So I’m not recommending them because their product has gotten worse.e

I just have the basic f droid app, the layout is awful and confusing. Is there one you suggest?
