I’m considering using Privado VPN and would love to hear your thoughts on its privacy features.
Here’s what I’ve gathered so far:
- No-Logs Policy: Privado VPN claims to have a strict no-logs policy, meaning they don’t track your browsing history, traffic destination, data content, IP addresses, or DNS queries.
- Encryption: They use AES-256 encryption, which is top-notch for securing your data.
- Jurisdiction: Based in Switzerland, a country known for its strong privacy laws.
- Kill Switch: Includes a kill switch to protect your data if the VPN connection drops.
- Split Tunneling: Offers split tunneling, allowing you to choose which apps use the VPN and which don’t.
- Ad Blocking: Provides basic ad-blocking features, though it may not be effective against all types of ads.
However, there are a few concerns:
- Third-Party Audit: There’s no mention of a third-party audit to verify their no-logs policy.
- Malware Protection: The malware and phishing site protection could be better.
I’d appreciate any insights or personal experiences you can share about Privado VPN’s privacy features. Is it as secure as it claims? Have you encountered any issues?

I’d never heard of it until now and am so far okay sticking with Windscribe.

The fact they advertise “10GB of free VPN protection every 30 days” seems like a red flag. Additionally, it’s generally pretty true you get what you pay for, so their paid plans running $1/month also seems fishy. If you want a trusted free VPN, Proton is the smart choice. If you’re willing to pay for the service, Proton, MullVad, or IVPN are the trusted options for privacy.
10gb is the free plan. Every 30 days.
Might as call it CIA Honeypot VPN.
Yep, and since nearly all free VPN’s cover their cost by selling user data, it’s a red flag.
You get what you pay for. If you are actually concerned about your privacy, then go with Mullvad. If you just want to download stuff for free without getting caught, then Privado is probably fine.
I don’t know it, my first question would be: who really owns it?
Then, I would immediately be suspicious of a deal promising me a 90% discount… But that’s just me.
Without a third party audit, we’ll never know.
