GPD, the company behind many portable devices like the upcoming GPD WIN Max 2, made a claim about cooperating with Valve to get SteamOS working on their hardware.

It would be a huge win for Linux and open source if GPD ditches Windows.

It would be nice to see a few more distro options for GPD’s machines, especially considering Ubuntu MATE is the only real option for ones like the Win 2. Anything else is a pain to install due to all the weird hardware they use.

By “weird” hardware you mean proprietary modules like fingerprint scanner, gyroscope and etc?
