I want to libreboot a thinkpad x200 and mainly use it for privacy, originally i wanted to use QubesOS but Qubes sadly doesnt support x200, and x230’s are expensive in my area. So now i’m thinking debian with hardened kernel and fde. Is it the best option or should i consider some other ones?

  1. Debian is always a great choice 👍. Sometimes the packages are dated, but this OS is solid and easy. Go for it!
  2. I use arch btw. Because of its rolling distribution model, bleeding edge packages and the AUR.

i also use arch (btw) on my PC but for the laptop i kinda want something that is either optimized for privacy (Qubes) or something that Just Works™. I’ll probably go with debian though, thank you!

@debi I think you’re good with this setup, I don’t know your threat model but it looks like more than enough for me
