If the content CNA be displayed, it can be parsed by recall.

The only way I can see to bypass it is to obtain DRM keys and display your content on a website only if widevine is active, like Netflix does. Surely it can’t screenshot DRM protected content, but also this is Microsoft .

This and the initial article are central plot points in Cory Doctorow’s Little Brother.

It’s a YA novel about a guy who helps organize resistance against the government by hacking Xboxes. There are at least 2 sex scenes. The ending is deeply unsatisfying, perhaps because the author wanted to convey that he alone cannot possibly succeed

This is my take also: if I ever spend money on good audio, I’ll be stuck spending lots of audio for the rest of my life. I’d rather live in the dark and by cheap second hand stuff that’s probably not great than never enjoy music again without spending thousands.

This is especially important for smite, because smite 1 is still incompatible on Linux due to them not enabling EAC

My thoughts exactly. It would be unreasonable to expect full support 14 years after it came out, and it would be unreasonable to expect modern apps to work flawlessly. But it’s not unreasonable to say that all the specs mentionned by the commenter can just be considered to all be 0 if the device cant run anything - not because it is physically incapable of it, but because we can’t even try.

Ok yeah it’s kind of funny but if you think about it for a second that ipad is perfectly functional. If apple doesn’t want to support it because it doesn’t make them money, then why can’t the community? Why does apple get to decide what is e-trash and what isn’t?

The laptop I bought second hand in 2014 is still very much functionnal, and in fact it still runs. I’ll concede that it doesn’t run well, as it was already unpowered back then, but it runs some flavors of Linux oriented towards low-power devices, because people made them to do specifically this. If I had bought a second had ipad instead, it would be in a landfill by now. It didn’t even take any special actions on toshiba’s part to make it behave like this, they just made a laptop that was up to the standards of every other laptop at the time. What I’m getting at is that this isn’t a new idea, we know how to take care of our devices for longer already, were it not for the apples and googles telling us what we can’t and can do on the device we own.

The hacking discords were just hit with another wave of bans across the board. Sure, a lot of them were sharing piracy links, but I know of several that clearly weren’t and still got nuked. Nintendo is going hard into repression, next step is probably going to be going after modchip sellers.

Anyoneserioius about privacy should not be using a chromium browser, and should definitely not be using brave.

They are definitely in a crackdown phase. Some revanced versions stopped working just yesterday, the yt-dlp stuff, the ad block block…

The best hope would be to get off of YouTube but that’s not happening any time soon given how expensive bandwidth is.

This test is wrong for sure. It doesn’t detect YouTube ads as being blocked despite them never appearing in this browser thanks to ublock origin.

I also highly doubt that any domain from DoubleClick.com would be allowed through ubo.
