Ah, gotcha. I kinda figured that was out there, but didn’t have names to associate with them.
I guess I’m wondering how a VoIP number would differ significantly from a burner phone. Obviously the burner is more private (assuming you pay cash, there’d be zero way to trace it anywhere). Signing up for a VoIP number with an alias seems almost as untraceable, assuming the VoIP company isn’t selling your data?
Honestly, if you don’t want a separate device, I’d sign up for a VoIP number. I use voip.ms, it’s a dollar or two a month for the number, and you pay per minute and per text (about a penny each, IIRC). You can forward calls to your primary number, or set up a SIP app (I’m using one called ZoiPer). I usually load it up with $20 per year or so.
This one. I’ve bought several over the years, they’re great and often available at your local electronics store, if you prefer that.
Over the years, controllers have gotten more standardized and are generally well supported. I have a few, and have never had issues with them in Steam (both Mint and Manjaro).
I’ve gotten a few from 8bitdo and they’ve all been solid. If you have a favorite console from your childhood (or adulthood), they probably have one that resembles it.
For most of the games I play, I prefer to have the left stick above the d-pad (like the Xbox, as opposed to the PS). I also recommend getting a controller that has trigger throttles (similar to Xbox or GameCube), as those can be nice to have for many games. This one seems pretty good (I have an SN30 Pro, but don’t love the left stick position).
The space? That will be based on how the website is designed (and many web frameworks do this). There might be an extension out there to do it, but I wouldn’t count on it working terribly well.
Your other option is to zoom in until the content fills your screen.
Though I’m only 62% sure I understand what you’re asking.
Well, historically ad revenue for TV is based on viewership, right? I’m not 100% sure how that was calculated before streaming, but I would think that changing the channel would still affect those numbers, albeit in a more gradual way. It would still have a similar effect, just not as immediate.
It’s important to differentiate “immoral” from “consequences.” The consequences of adblockers/changing the channel is that it may impact content creators, but that doesn’t make it immoral.
