We’ve been using KitchenOwl (on f-droid) for a few months and we’re hapoy with it.

Just a reminder: with Proton you can’t use IMAP for your email client, you either need their mail client (mobile) or bridge app (desktop).

Been using Deltachat for about a year, so far so good. I dunno how secure it really is (never took the time to check) but it’s been reliable. Multi-device was kinda quirky at first but has gotten better.

That’s also the default value on Garuda (arch-based, gaming-oriented)

I guess it depends on the area. In France, airbnbs are usually cheaper than hotels (especially if you’re 2 or more). Plus having a kitchen means saving quite a lot on food compared to having to eat at restaurants or takeouts.

I’ve been using DeltaChat (available on F-Droid) for a few months now.

What I like about it is that because it’s email based, it uses OpenPGP for encryption, making it easy to have compatibility with other email-based solutions.

If you want to go the extra-secure route, you and your contacts can even self-host your emails - as long as you’re not going to send messages to people on Gmail or other big providers, you can avoid your messages being treated as spam.

The multi-device support is still a bit rough around the edges, but has gotten better in the last few months since the app is under active development.

Pretty much all the basics are covered, here are some examples:

  • Newpipe for videos and music
  • FairEmail for email
  • Organic Maps for maps and routes
  • Aves Libre for gallery
  • lots of privacy-oriented instant messaging apps (I use DeltaChat)
  • Jerboa for lemmy
  • plethora of calendars, todo apps, calculators, keyboards…
  • some games

And then of course all you power-ish user stuff (alternate launchers, clients for self-hosted clouds and stuff, terminal emulators…)
