Did you give ALVR a try? Some people got it working. I basically don’t use my Quest with a pc because Windows. Hopefully things will be perfectly working in a few months, things move fast for Linux gaming right now.

The problem is no other platform has that much content. Looking for an obscure scene from an old tv show? It’s probably on YouTube. Wanna know more about Brigitte Bardot’s career? Someone has a nice channel about her. The fact that the platform sucks amd his own by effing google doesn’t change that there is just so much great niche content to be discovered. Hopefully we’ll have a fully working foss alternative soon enough. I’ll gladly pay for that if the money goes back to creators.

Nobara. Easiest install for gaming.

Yep of course if your system works dont bother switching. Nobara is basically Fedora for gaming. It’s developped by a Proton guy and follows Fedora update cycles with a few months delay.

Well it works perfectly to me. I dont need updates every 24h , I just wants all codecs preinstalled for Davinci and Reaper, and games to work out of the box, and I get all that with Nobara. If the dev abandon it I’ll switch to something else but its currently up to date with fedora and well maintained.

I you like Fedora, you might want to look at Nobara. Super optimized for gaming and AV work.
