I really, really like Gitlab… but this is a MAJOR problem and spectacularly short-sighted.

This is the only reason I stopped using Ubuntu and switched to plain old Debian + GNOME. I want nothing more to do with snap.

There is no problem here that needs to be solved. This does not solve any real problem and only creates more, even worse problems.
