The Linux version of the game is sometimes treated like an unloved stepchild though. I actually played the game through Wine for years because the Windows build had about twice the FPS on my Linux system.

There’s also a bug when reflections are enabled that makes the game unplayable and it hasn’t been fixed for about a year. It took them something like two years to fix another one where the mouse randomly left the window on a dual monitor setup and that one basically made me stop playing altogether. That said, I appreciate them supporting Linux in any case.

I have used Lawnchair for years and I’ll never switch as long as it’s usable. It’s the best one around IMO, very functional and pretty.

Have you tried downgrading your drivers to the previous version?

That didn’t effect me much personally and I could understand their reasoning. Still, it’s understandable that it lead to some frustration among other users.

Wow, that is very impressive. I’ve been a subscriber for a few years and I couldn’t be happier with their service.

The dealership won’t do it but most independent workshops probably will. You might get into trouble with your warranty though if there’s ever an electric issue, the disconnected unit will show up as a fault code during diagnostics.

Yeah I know, I’d just like to know how they are different. I imagine some of it has to do with controller compatibility and steam features such as overlay and achievement integration?

I know that wine and proton are not the same thing, which is why I specifically ran my tests with the Proton Experimental version that is downloaded through Steam in both launchers. I tested it again with GE-Proton8-14 and the results were largely the same: Most games ran just fine, but some wouldn’t launch in Lutris and would instead work through Steam.

How is running a game with proton different in Steam and Lutris?
I have had numerous cases where a non-Steam game would run perfectly through Steam with Proton but the same game wouldn't even launch through Lutris, even though I used the exact same Proton version. How are they different? Is there anything that Steam does in the background that Lutris won't? I'd love if anyone could shed some light on this for me.

No. I have a 144Hz monitor and a 60Hz monitor and both work at their maximum frame rate.
