This is not what you asked but I use bitwarden for unimportant passwords and keypass for important ones. I actually keep the keybase database on an external drive that I only plug in when I use it.

yeah at least it would make it a bit more work and honestly its often about not being the low hanging fruit. Im a home body so I would not mind bringing it a bit more local. Figure it would add to their vpn headaches as going to the region would not be enough.

It would be great to have like a controllable firewall setting so you could like lock out anything from your state but if you are going on vacation then before you go you can open up another state or country or such.

I mean I have no idea how your email is not going to looks like some kind of scam coming from non official resources.

say what you will about trump. sure hes a small pathetic man. sure he is under musk and putin, but there are people under him. He may be a sycophant but he is the head sycophant.

Im no linkedin and don’t get bombarded with thousands of emails and targeted ads. My email is on my resume that I send out as well. I don’t see how I can be in the job market and not disseminate my email. You could limit your self to jobs listed on companies websites but you will still need to make a thing with workday or whatnot very few do their own system.

Thats the idea. make everything difficult unless you do it the way they want. Have to call my insurance today to find my account number for sending a payment through billpay as they are basically hiding it because it necessary to pay outside of putting something on their system. don’t want you paying from your system (bank) must put in your card in theirs.

I allow override and on occasion allow the override. I use it like no script. If it needs modification I ask myself how motivated I am to see it.

I would work at them but im sorta glad for the tech places I have worked but then again can you work anywhere and not be adding to it? I worked at an onlinemarketplace for consumer to business that had a fair amount of competition and it was easy for new competition to spring up. As such they had to balance what their businesses wanted with what consumers wanted because one paid but there was a lot of competition to keep the consumers. The businesses themselves compete with each other so they also had to be very neutral there. Still it was integrated with all sorts of data broker cookies and pixels and whatnot. Im now working for business software in a regulated field so that helps. We are a framework so the data collection happens at our business customer level and not us but it still happens. How do you get away from it? I mean seriously I have about the best your gonna get private sector wise but everyone cannot work in the public sector.

problem here is you want to keep learning and growing which has the unfortunate consequence of improving the software.

Internet and associated technology has become the dominant force in our world and we have next to know regulation on it and the stuff we have is targeted at individuals rather than corporations like it should be. I hat to through youtube links around but this guy has a pretty good one on price fixing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdWSUIdtu6E

Ive installed nvidea drivers on many linux distros.

yeah I encountered it when looking at infrared for another convo in the thread. its uvb for what we think of as glass. the clear stuff. which is what causes sunburns and the transition lenses to activate.

if this yahoo from the internet I found in a search is right then its both:

“Glass will bock low frequency IR (red hot), but allow the passage of high frequency (white hot) IR. Hence, the heat of the sun will easily pass into a greenhouse, but once this energy is converted into low frequency heat by the objects within that absorb it, then the resulting low frequency heat is trapped. Hence, the Greenhouse Effect.”

actually thats UV. transition lenses won’t change with a glass window thats not open. infrared is basically heat and does indeed pass through. Cars in the sun would not get hot so fast if they did not let in infrared.

the moment I saw login im like um yeah I bet same with microsoft or any other login that is across. wait for it. sites. login to outlook.com and then go to 0365

i have an android for work and I just have the work stuff on it. personally I use google voice.

I don’t like smartphone and won’t use apps for anything important.

sort of annoying viva la dirt league is doing some .tv thing but would like them to go federation

did they do something special. most places I have been to when the network is down it just does not work.

are they not allowed now. The thing im thinking about was definately post 2000 but maybe not 20teens

well that is sorta my point. I keep some cash on hand but the majority of my money gets auto deposited and debited from there when I pay bills. If someone steals the majority of my money and I have somelike 1 to 10 percent its not a much better situation than them stealing all of my available funds. I mean it is which is how come I do keep a bit of cash on hand.

good point. I think embossing went away about when wireless became ubiquitous with it. So they would need to be doing that again.

Just to be clear we are a mostly cashless society and the majority of currency is not physically in existence around the world and somehow it manages to be protected by and large.

Im the Xer type with no smartphone and prefers the wallet. I remember so many shows or street people with paranoia would have the horror of government trackers but I find the horror of corporate trackers to be much worse and far to real now.

Can’t remember which one but credit cards were offline for a time with something and places that still had the carbon paper roller things stashed away took them out and used them. They should keep those things around.

My wife wears rubber gloves to the doctor. I have thought about getting some light butler type gloves for riding the train and such.

well yeah but thats you. the person who had the comment starting the change feels differently. Thats sorta the point im trying to make. That its understandable it just depends on how you view that attitude. So I see some merit to why they would avoid the software if they feel that viewpoint is a moral failing.

Thats because you don’t view it as a moral failing. How would racist language rank. What about nazi stuff. I mean none of that technically effects trustworthiness for running an org. Well ah. unless your the particular thing.

@Jumuta@sh.itjust.works

@Gargari@lemmy.ml @Solumbran@lemmy.world @DrJenkem@lemmy.blugatch.tube

This is sorta a hornets nest. On the one hand I get that when it comes to tech who cares about the persons personal life but on the other hand when it comes to free software there is a concern over the orgs or individuals that run them given the trust involved. Yes you can rely on the many eyes but you want to be confident of the org (or individual) to begin with.

apple fanboys. yes. the take it or leave it apple types would likely have a decent exodus. non apple users would not like but would not matter.
