Very valid. I really enjoy it so far. No matter what browser im on i always spend a new minutes setting everything up. Might actullly harden this some extra. Probably wont get close to librewolf levels but i night be fine with that depending on much i manage to fix.

I found out they have a compact mode which completely hides the sidebar until you move your cursor to the edge. I didnt personally like it but maybe thats something for you?

This looks very bandy. Thanks allt for the link!

They do seem to be talking a lot about privacy for not having done anything. And i think they mentioned having disabled most of Firefox default telemetry and such. I will have to double check that when i get ho.e though.

Zen Browser Opinions
Hello! I was curious about your guys opinions on Zen browser. Im currently using LibreWolf but enjoyed the look and feel of Zen browser. I tried to look for a Zen comparison on the aspect of privacy but didnt really fond any. So I wanted to see if you guys havet any input or opinion on Zen, anything goes!

Will update the original post but I solved it. Apparently there’s specific gamepad settings inside of Wootility under Settings > Gamepad. There you have to select what type of controller the software will emulate. I just took the recommended (Xbox Controller) and now it works as expected.

The keyboard itself is fine if I use regular mappings, however in the wootility software they provide (yes they have an official linux version) you can map controller inputs to your keys. So for example I can map (emulate) controller joystick left input to my A key to emulate the analog signal. These does not seem to register in-game. Other key inputs work fine.

Wooting Analog Switches not working via Proton
Hey, I've just received and built my first custom key board using the Wooting 60HE module and Lekker L45 Switches. I tried testing them out in Trackmania and I've run into an issue. The analog inputs aren't registered in the game. I'm running the game via Steam through Proton GE 9.7 and it just simply does not register the input. I read somewhere as the keyboard emulates controller input you had to set the input device in the in-game controller settings to "xinput controller" but since there is no actual controller connected the only available devices are "xinput keyboard" and "xinput mouse". I'm curious if anyone has had or solved this issue or if anyone could bring some tips on how to possibly solve this. SOLVED: Apparently there's specific gamepad settings inside of Wootility under Settings > Gamepad. There you have to select what type of controller the software will emulate. I just took the recommended (Xbox Controller) and now it works as expected.

What youre describing sounds alot like Grayjay

What KDE/Kwin version do you use? Would be interesting to compare.

Edited the original post but might aswell comment it. I switched to GNOME (Wayland) and the FPS issue seems to be gone there. I ran the game with only the command line arguments “gamemoderun %command%” in steam and it seems to work properly. Very odd issue.

Launching it in GNOME (Wayland) seems to fix the issue. Very uncertain what this issue was but it seems to be related to KDE.

(Also I did not let the shaders compile, so not a shader issue)

Got gamescope working but the issue still persists. I’m gonna try launching in different DE aswell as letting shaders fully compile.

Good info, I will try this tomorrow and report back.

I had not seen this, but V-sync was off all the time :(

I’m on Wayland, so no X11 shenanigans going on here 😭

I removed all of my other arguments and tried to start with “gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f %command%”, when I start the game the “Processing Vulkan Shaders” steam pop-up shows up, and when I click “Skip” (as I always do) it just disappears, no error or anything, the “Play” button on steam just goes back to green.

Monitor and game both running with 240hz set as refresh rate, game is also set to max fps at 360 but also have display refresh rate set to 240hz (yes, there were separate options for this)

I attempted to run the game using gamescope but I’m not very familiar with using it, I was unable to add gamescope to the steam command arguments and also running the game executable with the command through the terminal. I’m not sure what the error is or if I’m just not using gamescope correctly.

Warframe - Low Performance while Game Reports 200+ FPS
Hello, I've run into a weird issue when trying to play some Warframe. When running the game all of the performance stats seems to be reporting a solid 200+ FPS but the framerate feels choppy as if I were playing on 60 FPS. I'm playing on a 240hz monitor and I notice the framerate is not at all close to 100 even though both the game and mangohud is reporting 200+ FPS. I've tried running GEProton 9.6, GEProton 9.7 and Proton Experimental through Steam but nothing seems to solve the issue. I'm also using VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_0 to enable DX12 (DX11 has the same issue) aswell as gamemoderun for any possible improvements. Note that this all persists even without any flags. I have also tried disabling the Steam In-game Overlay but that didn't help either. Does anyone have any information on what could possibly be going on here or anything that could help? I will post my specs below. OS: Nobara Linux 40 DE: KDE PLasma 6.0.5 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X RAM: 32GB (2x16) DDR4 3200Mhz GPU: AMD RX 6800 XT Update: I found out that the issue seems to be related to KDE, when running in GNOME (Wayland) the displayed framerate matches what is reported via game and MangoHud.

Yeah I am thinking about waiting until I get a new one for that specific reason.

De-google everything. I use a VPN and run LibreWolf with some plugins like uBlock, uMatrix, deArrow and SponsorBlock. Still haven’t gotten around installing Lineage on my phone to get rid of Google there, but at least I run VPN on my phone at all times aswell.

Now since I use LibreWolf it deletes cookies on every shutdown. This is a bit annoying because I have to log back in every time I visit websites. Therefore I run BitWarden and have also allowed some cookies in website settings.

Its not the best privacy solutions but it’s an easy setup for a lot of profit imo.

The process itself is not hard no. I just could not find the firmware required.

How and where did you find that link?

It only states that the necessary firmware can be found on the manufacturers page

Almost, this seems to contain the rollback from Android 13 to Android 12. I cant find any article about rolling back 14 to 13.

OnePlus 9 LineageOS installation question
Hello! I am currently attempting to install LineageOS on my OnePlus 9 to start degoogling it. The installation guide specified that I specifically need to be on Android 13 to install it, however I am currently running OxygenOS 14 with Android 14. Previous versions have had Open Beta threads for new OxygenOS versions which provided local rollback packages but I can't seem to find this for 14 to 13 for the life of me. Has anyone else had this issue? How did you solve it? Any help is appreciated!

I understand your situation. If you do want to dodge Nintendo however you might be able to get a similar experience by emulating a Switch on a Steam Deck.

I haven’t bought anything from Nintendo since the DS. I never believed their consoles to have the quality, performance or uniqueness to justify their prices. Exclusives is just a money-grabbing FOMO practice that I have never deemed justifiable either.

However, I never actively chose to stand off on purchasing their products until I heard about how they treated the Smash community and literally shut down their tournaments as well as how their fantastically buggy releases of certain Switch Pokemon games.

They have proven time and time again to not only not care about their consumers or community but to actively seek them out and piss in their mouth whenever they can.
