I don’t know about you but I don’t like to be watched by big brother all the time.

True. It’s close to AOSP. Don’t understand the downvotes.

The problem with it being it not working on the clear net. However, this may also be seen as a benefit.

This also provides you with more freedom as in freedom as you aren’t forced to use their Clients/Apps.

Video states it should be way faster.

Bro has to chill. He didn’t specifically mention it, but obviously just uses it for those shiny new Arch Linux (GNU/Linux) ISOs.

It is not. It is pretty much a completely tweaked Firefox.

It’s just a hardened version of Firefox. You can archive this with Firefox, but it is a hassle.

Do not track request makes you stick out which results in easier tracking.

Please stop recommending vanilla Firefox. Although you could argue that it is less privacy invasive than Chrome, Edge or at leat fucking Opera, it still invades your privacy WITH DEFAULT SETTINGS. For a solid out-of-the-box Browser you can choose:

  • LibreWolf (Firefox fork that’s just plain good)
  • Mullvad (based on Firefox and created in collaboration with Tor Browser devs - if paired with VPN (e.g. Mullvad) anonymity can be archived)
  • Tor Browser (anonymity can be archived)

Buy a used Pixel that fits your budget. The Pixel 6 sometimes has problems with the battery so maybe rather choose between 7, 8 or 9. But you could send it to Google to get a new one but then you have to deal with them so yeah. Ifixit also has first party replacement batteries if you would choose the Pixel 6 and you would get this problem. Still I would recommend 7 lineup. Just take a look at grapheneos.org for length of support. Also 9 will be hard to find 2nd-hand I recon ;^)

They also payed to be the default on Firefox ._.

And to add it is more sustainable to buy 2nd hand + can be anonymous + cheaper + Google works together with ifixit which at least makes repairs somewhat possible. Of course the Fairphone or similar phoned are better in that regard.

The problem with that is that pretty much only Graphene can offer a secure (locked boot loader) phone that is also private. Edit: Some Phones like the Fairphone or Shift can still be locked.

I would like to add that LibreWolf (which ships with ublock by default) deletes all cookies upon closing it.

A password without disk encryption is useless. If you mean your super user password however this should be secure of course.

Not at all. If you think about security like if a thief was to steal your data then the only thing protecting you would be disk encryption. A password for login won’t prevent someone from taking your disk.

Yeah. I know, but expressed it in a bas way. Edited it and now it should be clear :)

piped.video (with default instance: kalvin.rocks) doesn’t work a lot of the time. You can use other instances instead if that is the case.

For a great app with proxy (you can choose the proxy instance) use LibreTube. It is based on piped (which itself is based on newpipe afaik). It’s the best yt app i know and available in the default f-droid repo.
