Why would you run, for example, a programming based YouTube channel, but not want to use that same account when interacting with the community on topics of programming? You have a right to anonymity, but people also have the right to block you if you only use that account to spam links in different communities with no other engagement because there’s nothing to differentiate you from all the bots doing the same thing for different reasons.
Yes for sure with Google or Alexa and I think HA is working on their own voice stuff, but haven’t looked into it too deeply as I haven’t really ever utilized voice commands apart from tinkering with them briefly. A spare Pi works great but you can also use other stuff like a cheap Dell Optiplex micro or and old laptop. If you use the Pi, I’d recommend installing a small SSD with it and running it off that versus an SD card. The card won’t last long with all the read/writes.
Are you running the cameras by themselves or do you also use the Amcrest NVR? I bought a PoE kit with the NVR but find it very clunky to use and have yet to figure out how to transfer video clips off of it (USB flashdrive only?). I’ve been interested in Frigate and the like but have yet to really dig into it. I’m also running a server with Plex and HA with lots of storage which would work for storage provided I buy a PoE switch.
Also this. Surprising so many on the right support people like this when he’s the literal personification of all their adrenochrome/deep state conspiracy nonsense.
You can argue its misleading but I disagree. Outsourcing bad behavior to a third party doesn’t remove culpability on your part. This is all to common these days and allows both parties to point fingers at each other while nobody faces any responsibility for breaking the law, violating people’s rights, and/or unethical behavior.
The FBI just using assumptions and impressions on methodologies used by the company they contracted with is no excuse when they could have asked how the work was going to be performed. Incompetence is no excuse either.
Have you actually verified whether you can turn this connectivity off? I know on other new cars it’s embedded in the electronics with no on/off button.
