  • Date that the breach occurred.
  • What parts of the system were accessed.
  • What data was compromised and if any of it is sensitive.
  • If any of this data was encrypted/hashed and what algorithm was used (i.e. I’d be far less worried about having passwords that are bcrypt hashed exposed compared to ones hashed with SHA1 or stored in plain text.)



Newsflash: everything that isn’t free and entirely open source is generally spyware these days.

It’s amazing how we pilloried RealPlayer and burned its parent company to the fucking ground over two decades ago for far less egregious transgressions than what we now let Meta, Google, Microsoft, Apple, etc get away with.


The OCD part of me really wants to clean up those URLs simply because the link becomes a massive novella of garbage that’s harder to read than Yu-Gi-Oh card text.
