Only slightly higher chance that they actually get to market too… Fingers crossed for 2025.

If someone you’re with has a phone on them, even if it’s off, you’re probably being tracked.

Yeah this is true. My partner’s car has a front facing camera that easily has enough resolution to ID license plates. Rear cam too. It could very easily log the plate and an image of every car that drives near it. No amount of (legally) wrapping your car in tinfoil will stop someone else’s vehicle from reporting your movements.

Probably not a “hard drive”, as vibration and shock are common things that cars experience, and not something that a hard drive handles well.

It would probably be easier and less damaging to find the fuse for the antenna/transmitter and pull it. That being said, it will probably stop the buttons on your keyfob from working. I think the keyless/touchless entry would still work. IIRC, that system works with active RFID near the door handles.

Eh, not really, at least in the US. You are paid to do your job. The company doesn’t own you during work hours. You can refuse to do work that was not in your job description, or ask for additional compensation. The company may fire you for this, but you would have a very compelling wrongful termination lawsuit.
