That really sucks. I can’t imagine the stress you must be feeling. I hope things level out for you soon. Hang in there.

A camera is not gonna stop some cunt with a weapon. Your argument is shit.

Not to mention the metal hook lock on most room doors I’ve seen that can prevent anyone from entering while you’re still inside.

So that was my first option, but for some reason I failed to find the file referred to here:

You can download krohnkite-x.x.kwinscript file, and install it through System Settings.

https://github.com/anametologin/krohnkite?tab=readme-ov-file#using-kwinscript-package-file Am I actually blind?

I just saw the notice on the GitHub repo “This repository has been archived by the owner on Jun 16, 2024. It is now read-only.” I suppose that answers my question, huh?

Linux newbie, here. Does this seem reasonable or normal? That's a lot of downgrades and deletions. I feel like if I click confirm I'm gonna nuke my system. Am I right to be concerned here? I do have backups in case of any issues, but still... I'd rather not spend the time to rebuild.

I’m not here to troubleshoot this issue. I don’t have the technical skill or understanding of this platform to do so.

I’m sure I’m not the only one with a working banking app. We don’t all use mainstream banks, right? There are options and I’m sure I’m not alone in this.

Thanks for insinuating I’m a liar though. That’s nice.

I’m on a Pixel 8 with GrapheneOS and a working banking app with no special fuckery because I genuinely don’t know enough about android to deviate from what’s offered in the stock Graphene experience other than using the FUTO keyboard and customizing basic settings just like everyone else.

That one use case literally invalidates the claim that banking apps don’t work. Your banking app might not work, but mine does.

Not true. I’m a Tangerine customer and have no issues at all with their app on Graphene.

All I know is that its a feature of GrapheneOS, and is the main reason why I switched over to it.

It just doesn’t allow you to use the Android Device Policy work profile which makes it so you can’t log into Slack for work (for example) if it depends on the work policy spyware being active on your phone.

I get that for some people that’s a non-starter but for me who vehemently supports and exercises my Right To Disconnect, not having spyware on my phone for work is a good riddance.

That’s what the Google Play Sandbox is for.

The only functionality I’ve lost after migrating to a Pixel with GrapheneOS is the Android Device Policy (aka Work Profiles, the spyware your employer requires to use certain work apps)

Good riddance if you ask me lol

Downvoted? Why? I’m curious to know.

Installing st: Fatal Error
I'm very new to Linux. Currently tinkering with Nobara and wanted to install st. I was able to successfully install it last night but when I started attempting to patch it for customization purposes I think I messed something up. I had needed to remove st multiple times and re-install so I could start fresh and fix my errors. Now when I attempt to run `make clean install` I get a host of errors related to packages that are installed but can't seem to be found? ``` [astralpath@nobara-pc st]$ sudo make clean install [sudo] password for astralpath: rm -f st st.o x.o st-0.9.tar.gz c99 -I/usr/X11R6/include `pkg-config --cflags fontconfig` `pkg-config --cflags freetype2` -DVERSION=\"0.9\" -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=600 -O1 -c st.c Package fontconfig was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `fontconfig.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable Package 'fontconfig', required by 'virtual:world', not found Package freetype2 was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `freetype2.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable Package 'freetype2', required by 'virtual:world', not found c99 -I/usr/X11R6/include `pkg-config --cflags fontconfig` `pkg-config --cflags freetype2` -DVERSION=\"0.9\" -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=600 -O1 -c x.c Package fontconfig was not found in the pkg-config search path. Could someone help point me in the right direction to troubleshoot? I'm really lost on how to proceed even though the error output seems to be giving me some pretty explicit instructions. Thanks in advance :)--

Maybe click on the link next time and avoid this altogether? I’m using Connect and had no issues “figuring out” the content of the post. Clickbait would also imply that the content behind the title is dubious but I’ve never once experienced that with Pluralistic. I recommend giving them a read whenever you see a link to their site with a title that draws your attention. They’re a high-quality source in my opinion.

You didn’t scroll at all, did you? Pluralistic is a well known blog. The content is just past the links at the top.
