Nice idea.

Does this run 24/7? How much traffic is generated so I don’t use up all my mobile data?

This sounds interesting. Something I’d give a shot. But the Github doesn’t have much to go by. Yet?

My recommendation: get rid of that app and go for a zero-tracker one:

Calc You

… or any other great FOSS calculator out there.

I have more considerations than security, like a headphone jack and other details. But you have my upvote anyways, because you make a lot of sense. I agree with you. 🏅

Doesn’t change that this only runs on Pixel devices. I simply don’t want a Pixel device for various reasons. Used or not, Graphene won’t run officially on a Sony, a Fairphone, etc.

If they can get it to work on non-Google devices, I will consider it. Right now Graphene compatibility is extremely limited. Besides, I basically have to give Google money to avoid Google.

🤪

This applies to so many things. Someone’s lifestyle might come under attack, someone’s religion might be persecuted, someone has sensitive information to share, and so on and so forth.

there are limits

I am glad you have a moral centre.

But that is the capitalist way. A Redditor once wrote: “*Corporations have no morals, no ethics, no code of conduct, no feelings, no empathy, and zero accountability. They have one goal and one goal only: to increase profits at all costs.”

Case in point: the climate crisis. Corporations are literally destroying their own home for a symbol of success that, like their products, is man-made: money. It is the ultimate pursuit of vanity.

Crazy, if you think about it for a moment.

You are right on all counts.

Just not sure if “easy” is the operative word here.

It’s almost as if companies have gone a bit overboard with advertising. Huh. Didn’t see that coming…

Not sure if this is the one, but it is quite interesting regardless:
