I don’t use AI at all. What you described is the principal reason. I also don’t like how these giant corpos are sucking up the entirety of human output to train these models without a care to the implications of it.

I use my airpods with my graphene os device (also a 7a) every day. One thing I’d recommend doing is first connect the airpods to a macos/iOS device and go into settings to customize the double tap/squeeze options for your airpods. This will then be the behavior those actions will have with your graphene device. Then have all apple devices forget those airpods.

Once that’s done you should be able to have your 7a find and connect to the airpods once you put them as n pairing mode.

That’s what pisses me off. I’d never give my data willing, but it’s unwillingly given through any relatives that did do this.

On desktop skip the ProtonVPN app and just use the official WireGuard app with the ProtonVPN config files which you can easily download from proton’s website. If you’re on Linux with gnome you don’t even need the wireguard app. You can just use the GUI network manager app to connect with the config files.

Edit: stupid autocorrect

With pass, everything in the store is gpg encrypted. Unless they have your master password, getting the password_store itself will give them nothing but encrypted data blobs.

Imo pass is great for CLI password management

This. I fucking hate that it’s opt out. Every goddamn time I open Firefox and run a search I gotta disable the stupid AI bullshit.

100% this. If you self host it you control your own data and can choose to encrypt it as well.

If you want e2ee file storage look at seafile.

If you want e2ee chat go signal if you don’t want to host, matrix if you do want to self host.

Ah! Thank you! I knew it was something I screwed up!

I did verify with lsblk, with a listing before and after plugging in the stick to be absolutely sure.

I also did verify the checksum of the ISO.

I’ll double check SecureBoot, but as I mentioned, the same ISO written to the same stick with Fedora writer did boot in the same machine it wouldn’t boot from with the dd version.

I know it’s something I did or didn’t do to make it work correctly, so this is not me trying to dunk on dd, just trying to understand what I did wrong.

I just tried this the other day and was unable to boot from the USB. Any chance you could shed some light on what I might have screwed up?

The command was:

dd if=fedora.iso of=/dev/sdc bs=4M status=progress

The USB stick was not mounted and the fedora image was verified. The command completed successfully but I couldn’t boot from it. When I used fedora writer to burn the same image to the same USB stick it booted no problem.

Edit: spelling & capitalization

You can use joplin without any kind of sync and encrypt the notes. I believe the desktop app also now supports a pin lock on opening the app.

That’s exactly what I took from it as well. It’s a survey designed to get the answers they want, not the actual feedback they’re pretending to ask for.

I know it’s a privacy focused browser, and I’ve used it on my iPad. It’s a decent enough browser. The best feature is that on iOS it actually supports plugins like ublock.

Element/matrix does indeed have a web version. You can use https://app.element.io, or you can self host the web client.

No. Your best bet is with something like privacy.com or mysudo.

Edit: grammar

+1 for proton. Been using them for years now.

Not exactly what you’re looking for, but mysudo may work for what you want to do.

I already do. I’m no mechanic, but I’ve made numerous repairs over the years and am familiar with and can do basic car maintenance.

I’ve got a 2009 dumb car and I am babying it because I dread having to try to buy a new to me car that isn’t full of telemetrics and other modern car garbage.

I don’t have or use a rice cooker. Not that that makes me special. I cook my rice in the oven using the Alton Brown method.

Hahaha. Not for my fucking teeth. I’ll use a wire brush before I use a fucking AI toothbrush.

+1

Just started using purelymail and it’s great.

That’s what I do. If a website blocks me because of my vpn, fuck em. I don’t waste my time. What business of theirs is it if I’m using a vpn.

That sucks. The last gym I was at had the access cards too which was great. I’m fortunate now to be able to have a home gym, so I don’t have to worry about that kind of enshittification.

I “deleted” my LinkedIn a couple years ago, and last year I started getting fucking connection request emails again.

I went to LinkedIn and lo and behold my login worked. I fucking deleted my account again. I’m sure it’s still there. Assholes.

Have you looked into atomic/Immutable distros?
