Adam Sandler has sided with Howard Stern in his war of words against former Pink Floyd singer-songwriter Roger Waters. “I’m very pro-Israel,” the comedian told Stern earlier this week, via Jewish Journal. “When you go off on Roger Waters, I fucking love that you do that. I’m disgusted that they single out Israel. All those nice Israeli people are getting a ‘fuck you’ from Roger Waters. … I’m not a crazy religious, but I’m proud of being a Jew, and that’s what I am.”
Following the ownership change, Hollywood producer Robert Simonds joined NSO’s board and attempted to acquire the company. He resigned five months later, after the deal fell through.
Interestingly, when asked about the deal by TechCrunch, an NSO spokesperson said the following:

Social media users are calling for the mass cancellation of ExpressVPN subscriptions after it was revealed that a cybersecurity firm with Israeli ties owns the popular privacy service.
In 2021, The Times of Israel reported that Kape Technologies, a British-Israeli digital security company, acquired ExpressVPN, one of the world’s largest virtual private network (VPN) providers, for nearly $1bn.

An Italian parliamentary committee has confirmed that the government used the Israeli-made spyware Graphite, developed by the offensive cyber company Paragon, to hack the smartphones of several activists working with migrants.
The committee confirmed that Paragon provided Graphite to two Italian agencies, including the country's external intelligence service, starting in 2023. The version of Graphite provided did not include the ability to activate the phone's microphone or camera, the report said.
Instead, it only enabled its operators access to encrypted communications on the hacked devices.
The report also confirmed that Graphite exploited a vulnerability in WhatsApp that Meta identified and patched in December 2024, one month before the spyware's activity was publicly disclosed. The vulnerability's discovery also caused "panic" at Israel's military intelligence Unit 8200, according to the recent Israeli television report.
By embedding tracking code into millions of websites, Meta’s Pixel and Yandex Metrica have been able to map Android users' browsing habits with their persistent identities (that is to say, with the account holder logged in). This method bypasses privacy protections offered by Android's permission controls and even browsers' Incognito Mode, affecting all major Android browsers. The international research team has disclosed the issue to several browser vendors, who are actively working on mitigations to limit this type of abuse. For instance, Chrome's mitigation is scheduled to go into effect very soon.
These tracking companies have been doing this bypass for a long time: since 2017 in the case of Yandex, and Meta since September 2024. The number of people affected by this abuse is high, given that Meta Pixel and Yandex Metrica are estimated to be installed on 5.8 million and 3 million sites, respectively. It is also worth noting that evidence of this tracking practice has been observed only on Android.
Google recently announced it would acquire Israeli-American cloud security firm Wiz for $32 billion. The price tag — 65 times Wiz’s annual revenue — has raised eyebrows and further solidified the close relationship between Google and the Israeli military.
Wiz was established only five years ago, and all four co-founders — Yinon Costica, Assaf Rappaport, Ami Luttwak, and Roy Reznik — were leaders in Israel’s elite military intelligence unit, Unit 8200. Like many Israeli tech companies, Wiz is a direct outgrowth of the military intelligence outfit. A recent study found that almost fifty of its current employees are Unit 8200 veterans.
Unit 8200 also spies on Americans. Whistleblower Edward Snowden revealed that the National Security Agency regularly shared the data and communications of U.S. citizens with the Israeli intelligence group. “I think that’s amazing…It’s one of the biggest abuses we’ve seen,” he said.
For the Israeli government, the utility of these private spying firms filled with former IDF intelligence figures is that it allows it some measure of plausible deniability when confronted with spying attacks.
Google has invested heavily in Israel, first opening offices there in 2006. Longtime CEO Eric Schmidt is known to be a vocal supporter of the controversial state. In a 2012 meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he declared that “the decision to invest in Israel was one of the best that Google has ever made.”

The head of Telegram, Pavel Durov, has been charged by the French judiciary for allegedly allowing criminal activity on the messaging app but avoided jail with a €5m bail.
The Russian-born multi-billionaire, who has French citizenship, was granted release on condition that he report to a police station twice a week and remain in France, Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau said in a statement.
The charges against Durov include complicity in the spread of sexual images of children and a litany of other alleged violations on the messaging app.
