People seem to think that the default de is the only one you can use. Do you know that you can install gnome alongside cosmic? I run popos with kde. And cosmic to test.

You can just install it if you’re running pop os and see how it is.

You’re overthinking it - distro doesn’t matter that much. Fix the issues you have on the distro you’re running.

FPS is double of what it was on Windows on the same machine.

It came out in 2007… And iirc the steam client is still 32bit? Games were slow to adopt 64 bit.

In the long term it might have a bad effect on the market, as it further helps to cement Microsoft’s control over multimedia APIs, since game developers now have little incentive now to target anything other than DirectX…

I ran, without any issue, portal 1 and 2 on an nvidia 1070 under Linux. Alt+tab and all. Great performance (well, for what the 1070 could do).

I really don’t understand the issues some people report and why I never see them with my nvidia hardware.

Truly it is a golden age of Linux gaming.
