I’m not saying it is likely, I’m just saying it’s a possibility.

Also, Amazon and Google are still, well, Amazon and Google, so the more i can get my personal website out of their mitts the better.

Email, Calendar, Cloud storage, and VPN all Free* and Open Source.

*Free as in Freedom. While they do have free priced tiers, you do have to pay for more storage, more VPN servers, etc. Free still worth it IMO.

Then all they would say is “Welp, guess we’re not texting then” . this goes for basically everyone I know except tech-geek friends.

How are personal websites actually helpful for private expression?
So, this might seem like a stupid question on face value, but I'll go further in detail. Everyone talks about getting a personal website so you can freely express yourself without getting beaten up by typical Social Media companies. While I fully agree with that, there are a few issues I have thought of: Firstly, (assuming self-hosting isnt an option) won't you have to use google or AWS to host your website? And if you post something "they don't like", nothing is stopping them from just ban-hammering your website. Secondly, even if you get a stable host, getting a domain is a completely different issue with the same causes; they could just revoke your domain if, again, you say something "they don't like". With all that being said, would anyone have any remedies for these issues? Are there any privacy/free-speech respecting web hosts and domain suppliers? Thank you for your responses! :D

Not a Brit, but still recommend following these. My only problem is involving Signal, as hard as I try I cant get my family to switch from exclusively SMS. Any tips?

Yes, I confused mull and mullvad, I’m an idiot, ignore me lol

That is most certainly the disconnect.

I apologize, I am an idiot. I thought “mull” was short for mullvad.

But I have mull on desktop… And it’s in the Arch repos. We’re talking about the browser, right?

Or even, mull vs. Librewolf. Still haven’t found a good comparison between those 2

Forgive my ignorance, I am an idiot. I did think about that part.

No, they want to make it illegal to install an illegal app.

It’s like saying: “Lol wut? They want to make it illegal to grow weed in my home?”

Now, I am NOT for this bill regardless, but that shouldn’t be your reason.
