The wayland parameter is needed yes. This runs proton natively in wayland and not in xwayland which is the default. This feature is not available in the regular proton versions at the moment but it is in Glorious Eggrolls

I have HDR enabled on my monitor but still have to enable HDR in each game where it’s supported.

From what I’ve heard the colour management is still a bit hit and miss between OS and window managers but my experience has been good so far.

I got HDR working nicely in Steam under Fedora 42 and Hyprland

Get protonplus https://github.com/Vysp3r/protonplus

Use protonplus to install proton-ge-4 and restart steam

In compatibility options use proton-ge-4

In the game launch options set

PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 %command%

This works really nicely in Hunt Showdown

What proton version are you using? I think shader cache updates go inline with proton version updates so I’d you’re on experimental or bleeding edge you’ll get more updates

Take your pessimism elsewhere. I have faith in the Hunt devs

Why would it?

This is the first time it’s happened in 9 months since it was enabled

Also if you look at journalctrl -f while launching code you’ll see lots of errors etc regarding shaders.

I had this yesterday. I think it’s related to the new Mesa driver. Couldn’t get vscode to behave soo switched to vscodium which works fine

Thanks for the giveaway! BTW someone already took Mordhau

I've been running a dual boot with Fedora/Win10 since Fedora 36 and finally made the switch to just Linux. Coincidence this was the same day the new Steam UI was released and now I'm hit with this Overlay bug. Anyone else having problems?
