lol idk what you find amusing about that but okay

In my opinion, the Google Pixel with GrapheneOS is considered the gold standard in terms of security and privacy. While I am not fully knowledgeable about its capabilities, it offers a comprehensive suite of security features.

The iPhone is also a viable option. You can easily swap between iCloud to a more secure encrypted provider for both cloud storage and photo backups. Additionally, any notes application can be replaced with a more secure alternative.

Samsung phones can support a range of operating system images that can be flashed, including LineageOS. However, I am not fully aware of all the available options.

Don’t Amazon stock some things in their own warehouse?

Pretty cool to be fair, it’s always nice to see new projects popping up.

Not a terrible idea, at least company xyz won’t see what you bought from the other company’s and therefore prevents them sharing much of your data to Ad services.

I see the funny side of the comment.

However someone out there may see it and think “oh great I’ll switch to (insert another privacy invasive service here) instead.

See that’s a good response and I appreciate that idea :)

What would be a more privacy respecting service instead of Amazon?
I mean Amazon is a hard service to switch from. Nearly everything you need is available to order from there. Now of course whatever is the next best thing can still get your address and name (unless you use an alt name and address) but I’m talking about apps or services that have better privacy polices regarding storing personal information.

Depends what they are, I think a fair amount of people might be in the same boat, with a few services from different tiers.

I agree that Apple, while not entirely private, is still a decent choice compared to Android. They both have their flaws though.

I suppose the legal part could stand, if they share or dispose of your Resume in an inappropriate manner in the EU or uk you could pull up GDPR or DPA and claim your information wasn’t protected

I use Adguard premium i think that’ll work come to think of it, it’s a shame really that YouTube had to go to such lengths to try and stop people from not paying them to rid their site of ads

What options are there to watch YouTube on iOS?
So invidious isn’t working well at the moment, neither is piped. So I’m wondering what the best options are to watch YouTube right now?

So errrm Sweden and Switzerland are two different countries.

Whilst I’ll agree with your statement some people prefer a service to use rather than self hosted.

And I suppose some people may worry about electric usage as well when running hardware 24/7. I guess that’s just 1 reason.

What are the best privacy and security minded alternatives for iCloud storage on IOS?
Due to Apple pulling ADP from uk consumers I think it would be fitting for us to discuss and suggest alternatives that our uk members could use and switch to.

You know looking back I kinda answer my own question, as privacy for me means no logs and as someone pointed out they keep logs. But yeah you do have a point also but the internet is like the Wild West sometimes

Yeah that’s true, thank you reminding me about that.

Hey thanks for reading the privacy policy that helps a lot I appreciate that

Yeah doesn’t sound amazing, the thing is I don’t want to use a vpn on mobile data, I use Apple private relay, but that only works in safari and certain other stuff.

Basically just trying to keep myself safe and mostly private when using mobile data

Question: Is Vodafone Secure connect private?
The reason I’m asking is I’ve seen it and was wondering how it works, like the fine details. To me all you would pay for is Vodafone to look at your internet traffic and secure it, but that just means you would pay them to snoop into your data. I’m not sure though so any answer would help, thank you

Ahhh yes tailscale, so it uses a vpn tunnel to route your traffic back home and through your network?

Very true, I’ve also noted that controlD can actually spoof your ip, so I suppose there is no need for vpn

That makes sense, is it possible to use advised dns along with a vpn on iOS? I’m sure I read it somewhere but I don’t remember.

It does suck however that if you use private relay it doesn’t work very well.

Interesting, do you or would you recommend a vpn at router level though?

Because forgive me if I’m wrong but if you use a vpn at router level then use adguard dns on the device which creates a vpn profile, wouldn’t that leak your data?

Or would you recommend no vpn on router and just use adguard home, with nextdns as the resolver or upstream?

People who use Adguard home or pie hole along with a vpn at router level, do you use any firewall ap
This is aimed at iOS users more, but do any of you use any firewall apps like 1 blocker fire wall or adguard dns. The reason I’m asking is if you have all them things at router level what good does it do on a device level?

Also ford recently redesigned their app so the users have to use built in google maps in order to track their car.

Thank you for your opinion

To be fair the only reason I switched is because I couldn’t find out how to pay for a year instead of monthly, but I think I’ve figured it out now

Mullvad VPN or Proton VPN?
Basically I started with mullvad then turned to proton but after they introduced AI and a crypto wallet I’m just looking for what peoples opinions are. EDIT: Thank you all for your suggestions and opinions :D
