Yeah, that wasn’t seen to me. I was imagining that whenever the report was done, that the third party would have some sort of press event about it.

We aren’t even getting the report. We’re getting a summary of the report from the person that had to pay to get it done.

That’s the problem, though, given the cost of indexing it. I’m not sure there’s a single open source search engine that doesn’t rely on some sort of proprietary software. My philosophy is that if the product is free, you likely are the product.? We would almost need a donation-based search engine to get around that, which would likely would not be sustainable.

If they don’t cache your search history to your identity, which they claim they don’t, then I’m not sure why that’s a problem.

I had this same problem. I ultimately just put a Linux computer on my TV with standard Ubuntu.

Louis Rossman is the poster child for the right to repair movement. He’s been doing this for well over a decade at this point. It’s okay that you don’t know him, but just trust us when we say that he’s pretty trustworthy. Maybe I don’t know, do some research into him.

Louis Rossman said in his video that this was so people didn’t repackage the application with ads and malware. He said it’s fair game to recompile and altar it in any other capacity though.
