So uh… Hi

Hi! Welcome

Sadly it’s not illegal (yet) but I hope they wake up and do something ¯_(ツ)_/¯

A phone you can’t remove google stuff

Not an expert but Apple is better that google, not by a lot because they show they care about privacy and stuff but that’s not true. If I had to choose between and undegoogle-able phone and iPhone, I’d pick Apple. Always.

I’d pick GrapheneOS over anything, better than both in privacy and by a lot.

Hey you! Yes, you that think I’m wrong. Feel free to comment this but keep it civil or I’m not responding ;)

The last time I wanted to do something for privacy, someone laughed at me saying “They don’t want to make a google mail because google spies on us”. Eh I wish you could read all this shit but you’re old and you don’t care about privacy ig

Yep! Recently (~1 month?) they added multi language support

Which is good (for now). Glad I don’t use that shit

My search was “pair airpods on android” nothing crazy. You’re welcome!

Me when Gemini (aka google) collects more data than anyone else:

Not really shocked, we all know that google sucks

To set up your AirPods with an Android phone or other non-Apple device, follow these steps:

  1. On your non-Apple device, make sure that Bluetooth is on (on an Android device, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth).

  2. Do one of the following:

    • AirPods 1, 2, or 3, or AirPods Pro (all models): With your AirPods in the charging case, open the lid, then press and hold the setup button on the back of the AirPods case for about 5 seconds, or until the status light flashes white.

    • AirPods 4 (both models): Open the case with your AirPods inside, hold it next to your device, then double-tap the front of the AirPods case so the status light flashes white.

    • AirPods Max: Press and hold the noise control button for about 5 seconds, or until the status light flashes white.

  3. When your AirPods appear in the list of Bluetooth devices, select them.

Or install an OS without most of the crap? https://massgrave.dev/windows_ltsc_links

I use linux so idk how that is but I heard is lightweight in bs

Woohooo something 90% of people will NEVER use, it will be on by default so they can scan all your pics (in case they didn’t already)

It’s sad that they didn’t keep the curseforge zip import thingy intact, you have to download the server files and stuff and it’s annoying… I don’t know if others did solve it but I wish there was an official support

I only know about multimc. I still don’t know what’s the difference between these two since they look identical (logo/name excluded)

TIL!

I downloaded prism recently but not playing anything ATM, no idea on what to play (modded)

Poly?

I still find MultiMC/it’s forks much better for the sole reason it has an “instances” folder and every folder has it’s own Minecraft version. Idk why but I feel that way is more organized

Vanilla Invidious currently doesn’t work well, so most hosters paused and/or gave up.

This is the reason why I stopped to host my own. It’s so painful to maintain

Folders in the app drawer or app list (depends on how you call it)

Not a fan of feeds and I don’t need them. I can’t find a good launcher with folders, up to date and with some customization

I prefer Solid Explorer but sadly it’s not FOSS. 2 things are missing:

  1. It doesn’t have multiple page support. Solid has 2 pages and I use one for my phone storage and one for my server
  2. You can’t change the way the folders are displayed, a 2 grid view is kinda ugly for me and I prefer a smaller view

Futo. It has the best suggestions for me, even if (all) miss some customizations

Who cares ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I’m using a foss keyboard

GBoard has no access to your messages

As far as we know. Gboard comes from Google and I don’t trust them even if they put it down on paper

We are talking about Google, are you sure it doesn’t do whatever it wants? You know, settings can apply for all apps except Google ones (just my 2 cents) why not use something else? Foss

Cool!

Ooh yeah, I know about that and NewPipe has this issue but I don’t understand if is app only or web browser too but I’ll see when I try it

Still it’s very strange you have to restart your container every hour :/ I’m sure I’m to stupid to understand the backend/code to make any sense out of it, but piped instances never had to restart anything.

Because of various issues, Invidious must be restarted often, at least once a day, ideally every hour.

It is, no idea why

Invidious is a great project and the restart is not a biggie unless you’re watching something. Can you host your own piped instance?

The biggest problem:

  • I don’t have enough RAM/GPU to run it on a server

But it looks interesting

But unless you’ve got a server rack full of data center class GPUs, you’ll probably set your house on fire before it generates a single token.

Its cold outside and I don’t want to spend money on keeping my house warm so I could… Try

I’ll check them out! Thank you

Fucking horrifying but great read. I was using ad blockers before but now I have +1 (top reason IG) reason to use them even more. Fuck ads companies

I wish I could use invidious without problems. I host my own locally and set it to restart the docker every hour like they mentioned in their guide, what makes me say “fuck it” is the fact that some videos play normally, then they stop for whatever reason (docker restarts OR NOT) and from then it loads the video, refreshes a few times and then the video is unplayable because of some “error decoding the video” or whatever it says (image below) and restarting docker or reloading the page does nothing and that video becomes unplayable

Keyboard alternative to Heliboard
As the title says I'm looking for a good alternative for Heliboard. I've tried a few of them and: - Heliboard is my favorite but the suggestions are a bit meh, sometimes it doesn't suggest correctly or does not auto correct me. Sometimes it does but sometimes it doesn't - Futo is goat in suggestions compared to Heliboard but it doesn't have an much personalization as Heliboard (even if Heliboard isnt goat on that aspect). I can't change symbols layout based on my taste (or muscle memory tbh), themes are a nothing crazy IMO, I wish I was able to make my own but its currently set to "coming eventually" - FlorisBoard was my first ever open source keyboard but at that time, it didn't have suggestions but placeholders so I uninstalled it because I need them I'm looking for a few things (ordered by importance): 1. Multilanguage support for correction. Is it even possible? Before switching from Samsung Keyboard to Pixel + Foss keyboard, I think there was something similar but I could be wrong (Top priority but at the same time is optional if not possible/hard to have) 2. Great correction for multiple languages (IMHO Futo is superior to everything I've tried) 3. Customization: Symbols layout, I want to set my own symbols and "subsymbols" (? The hold to show more) 4. Customization: Themes. I want to be able to change the colors of the keys/background/etc basically how Samsung Keyboard is customizable with the Keyboard plugin in Good Lock (or some nice themes with limited personalization but I would love to set my own colors Thanks!
