“Arguably worse for privacy than Reddit”
This poster clearly has some sort of vendetta against Lemmy and/or its creators with the comments on politics, etc.
Reddit takes your activity and packages/sells your data to advertisers. Lemmy does not. To say Lemmy is worse than Reddit for privacy is just not true.
I’d take that post with a hefty grain of salt.
Unfortunately most of the “privacy phones” really aren’t that great of a smartphone experience due to them running Linux which isn’t nearly as developed for smartphone use as Android or iOS.
I personally use a Samsung Fold 4, and run Firefox w/ add ons, DDG for search and app tracking protection.
Apple likes to boast about how iOS is more privacy focused than Android, though. Grain of salt.
Is it built on chromium?
I currently use Firefox simply because it’s the one privacy focused browser not built on chromium. I don’t want to contribute to Google’s monopoly over browser traffic.
