Gotta use less popular locations close to what you need. As a german I have mostly been using Finland and other smaller eastern European countries, those generally work just fine. Germany itself barely ever.

Your threat model seems… Interesting lol. Is there a high chance of people trying to aggressively plant a tracker on you when out in the open?

Well yes obviously nobody can prevent the recipient from taking a picture of the screen with a second device or writing down manually what the message said.

No system is foolproof, but those features are definitely miles ahead of anything meta provides, since they dont actually want those chats to be encrypted. They want that data, it is their business model.

Pretty sure the more user / privacy friendly options prevent screenshots or copying from an encrypted chat, and also allow the participants to delete their messages after they were read or even a set time.

Is that a recent change? I somewhat distinctly remember being offered Fdroid during the initial setup as well.

Is it really endorsement to offer the user upon initial setup to install it, along with fdroid?

I’d say that’s just general compatibility, most users have at least one play store app they can’t just stop using, in my case that would be the banking apps I need to be able to pay online.

Purged of unwanted and intrusive features, UBO pre installed, and is pre configured for increased privacy.

I suspect if they let steam do it there is nothing stopping steam from running it on Linux as well, provided the usual compatibility features such as proton wouldnt be deliberately incapacitated by Microsoft; which in turn would piss off valve a lot because of the steam deck and OS.

They invested heavily in their Linux fork and compatibility suite, if windows store were to fuck with that I suspect they would be on the losing end. Steam users are very loyal to the company and by default extremely hostile to proprietary fuckery.

I can’t help you personally because I’m just a Linux / lutris beginner myself, but I found their discord to be reasonably helpful for general support:

Interested myself. So far I had only good experiences as a customer, though i hear they are pretty rough towards vendors. It is also widely accepted where I live (EU), which makes it very convenient.

But i am always eager to stop using a corporate product or service.

The contradictory goals for privacy displayed here are caused by corporations and intelligence agencies lobbying behind closed doors to get that data. And with the think of the children / anti pedophilia rhetoric people blindly agree. Because who wants to be against something that helps to protect kids right?

In Germany we have the wahl-o-mat, translates roughly into elect-o-mat.

This is a website loaded with all available parties and their political demands. You then answer a few dozen questions to identify your own opinions on the different subjects and then runs a comparison. You then end up with a tiered list of political parties you align with the most.

Perhaps a similar tool exists for other languages and countries as well

I suppose for when you are okay giving a new acquaintance your made up username but don’t want them to have your actual phone number. You can still communicate, but if you were to block them they can’t harass you on your real phone number.

Good addition

I mean, you do you of course, but in my opinion online you’re just that, someone struggling to connect by conventional means. Offline so to say you could still have your other attributes going for you, maybe you meet someone while you’re enjoying a hobby or activity and you could bond over that. Granted I have only had a handful of relationships myself as well (am mid thirties), but they all lasted between two and five years, so I would say they were reasonably successful. And I met all of them conventionally: while doing an apprenticeship, at university, going to the same gym at the same time for some weeks, and the classic friend‘s friend.

And I would hardly call myself smooth, it is just helpful to have more time to make a positive impression than a bored two second glance at someone’s phone before swiping.

I have adhd if that helps

But yes, your chances of meeting someone otherwise are not necessarily more in quantity, but more likely to succeed than being one of hundreds of dudes swiping on a woman. Regardless of if you are autistic

I just don’t bother with those sites. They are designed to exploit lonely men for money, with an abysmal success rate.

Just try and meet women some other way. Your chances of success certainly aren’t lower than online.
