Mullvad has announced it will shut down its privacy-focused search proxy, Leta, on November 27, 2025. Users are advised to combine a VPN and a privacy-focused web browser as alternatives for similar search privacy.

I tried it but it was way worse than DDG.

Let’s Search has been a little sub par recently. I use Mullvad browser with DDG search engine, on devices running VPN.

Shame it never gained proper momentum, but I admit I only used it sporadically myself. Hopefully, Mullvad Browser isn’t going anytime soon. Again, it’s not my main browser but I do turn to it, and more often than I did to Leta.

I was using that :(

Andisearch and Startpage, both use random-proxie search.

Good decision in my opinion. They said they will focus more on their main product vpn and thats fair. Even more when you consider that you can replicate leta by yourself via a good privacy browser and a vpn. Leta was usefull but probably. a big cost factor in the sense of money and human work too.
