Yattee has recently dropped support for iOS 14, and was already extremely buggy to begin with. I currently use the uYou tweak on YouTube, but it isn’t as private. Are there any native alternatives that don’t involve a PWA?

I am not very familiar with iOS but if everything goes wrong you could probably use Piped as a PWA, that’s a website but one that uses caching very well and has support for Sponsorblock and Dearrow to get the optimal Youtube experience!
Not an alternative to NewPipe, but there’s a solid app in the App Store that’s basically been a functional, constantly updated clone of YT premium. It’s called Video Lite.
There are some invidious instances using “googlevideo” javascript to directly fetch the videos locally. So you dont use their bandwidth as much.
If thats enough for you maybe that, or maybe add a VPN to it.
For playlists…
just use safari. open a invidious instance and pin it to your homescreen.
I’m afraid a PWA might be the only way to go. uYou, Cercube, and Yattee are the only apps that aren’t crammed full of ads, tracking and in-app purchases.
Damn, that’s a shame. I guess I’ll stick to bookmarking Piped

I was about to recommend Yattee, but then I reread the post and noticed that OP has already tried it.
Yattee is the best app ever, it is a little buggy here an there but if configured right it can do the same things as newpipe or vanced on android
does it allow me to login and get my recommendations from yt, or is it without any login functionality?
You can import things from YouTube, but I don’t use recommendations so I can’t answer that
I suspected that, so it’s working similar to how newpipe works.
