GeForce NOW announces support for Steam Deck, Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest and Pico mixed-reality devices; plus 'DOOM: The Dark Ages' and 'Avowed' are coming to the cloud.

This is actually pretty huge because it means fortnite, valorant and all those esports games with kernel-level anticheat will be playable* on the steam deck and subsequently linux.

*I don’t care how awful the service may be if it helps with mainstream linux adoption.

You’re absolutely right. GeForce Now IMO is a shitty service and I wouldn’t use it, but I’m glad it’s available for those that want to play R6Siege, Valorant, Fortnite etc.

I thought they shut GeForce now down. Did I Mandela effect myself?

Took these fuckers far to long

An always online service that’s too laggy to play anything but slower games on a device meant to be portable and work without internet while traveling. So stupid.

But why?

For games that the deck struggles to run?

AFAIK the Steam Deck doesn’t have NVIDIA hardware in it, so I don’t see how it would help.

Edit: GeForce NOW is a cloud game streaming service and doesn’t require any NVIDIA hardware.

You might be thinking of GeForce Experience.

@DarkDarkHouse @Robin Geforce now is for streaming games running in the “cloud”, not for configuring a local GPU.
