A couple levels in so far and it feels similar to the original in a good way while clearly being a sequel. I’ll have to play more to see if they manage to keep that going throughout the game

So far only problem I had was having to set steam deck controls for it because I sure as hell ain’t using the touchscreen and blocking my view of the game.

I loved the original game and was about to buy the new one, but I did not expect it to be $30. I’ll wait for a sale.

Likewise. I also have a glut of really cool new indie games from the last couple of months to catch up on.

Will this ever be on iPad again. My new iPad Pro would love this game

If Apple would stop breaking game APIs for a second, then yes

But no word what it is about.

If you haven’t seen the first one, I can’t imagine what sidereochronological phenomenon you’ve been lost in for the last decade and a half. It’s a bridge-building game, but the bridge is made out of nodes of goo. The goo is both cute and not an ideal construction material.

Maybe i’m just not 40 already.

Oof, that is a low blow

‘GamingTrend had an issue with the humour in Chapter 4, stating “this series of levels has what I would call three distinct right wing dog whistles, with jokes that feel mean spirited involving drag, homophobia, and fat-phobia”.’

I enjoyed the first one, hopefully this one is decent. I might wait until I can get more details on the above, though.

Does anyone know how to report bugs for this? Because the Linux build is linked against libcurl-gnutls, but libcurl-gnutls is not included in the appimage…

I had to unpack the appimage, and manually create a symlink to my system’s libcurl to get it to run.

Oof, that sounds like an appimage alright.

Man, an AppImage? If I ever get it it’ll be on Steam for sure.

Yeah. Super annoying…

AppImage: It solves the problem of too many dependencies by introducing more dependencies.

I hate that they’re basically Windows-style free-for-all executable installers brought over to Linux as if that’s a pleasant or safe user experience in any way. I’ve also had a few annoying experiences with programs packaged that way and I’d much rather just get a zipped version of the game executable and asset files. Works just fine for basically every Linux game I’ve downloaded from Itch.

Liked the game a lot back on the wii

Please don’t suck please don’t suck please don’t suck.

They should make it available on GoG. They’re DRM free.

They have an exclusive deal with Epic. So no Steam/GOG for the forseeable future. They say the game would not have happened wnthout the money from Epic.

I guess the DRM-free version was the best deal they could get…

Not a fan of that Epic Games Store (semi) exclusivity deal.

Offering a DRM-free version in addition to the Epic Store one is nice and all, but having it on Steam (on which games don’t have to use any DRM either should the studio choose not to) would be much easier especially because of cloud saves and the Steam Deck.

It’s a skip for me (for now). Still an enjoyable game I’d guess if you don’t care about Steam.

I don’t care about Steam, but I’d appreciate a GoG release for convenience.

Steam

I see how you are casually ignoring Microsoft Store.

Sir this is a Linux community

I didn’t see any mention of the Microsoft Store on their website?

Nintendo Switch - on the Nintendo eShop Epic Games Store - for Win / Mac WorldOfGoo2.com - right here, for Win / Mac / Linux, DRM-free

Or are you saying it should also be available on the Microsoft Store? That wouldn’t help my mentioned use case (easy install on Steam Deck and cloud sync between Deck and desktop PC).

EDIT: Also, none of my computers run Windows anymore, so yeah, I couldn’t care less about the Microsoft Store.

I was trying to make a dumb joke, because I’m disappointed that they didn’t release it for Android.

Yeah, I perfectly understand why. World of Goo 1 was one of the best Android games, but the sales numbers were non-existent.

No one uses Microsoft Store.

I bet you’ve also replaced Microsoft Edge with Chrome.

This incident will be reported
